Ethanol Consumables

Epiphergy supplies E-Fuel ethanol feedstock and helps customers locate free or low-cost wastes that are suitable for ethanol production.

EFuel100-FM: A mixture of non-food-grade sugar and E-Fuel's proprietary yeast/nutrient blend to ensure optimal ethanol yields for the E-Fuel MicroFueler. One 50-lb bag of EFuel100-FM feedstock yields approximately four gallons of ethanol fuel.

Wastes & Byproducts: We encourage our customers to identify and use locally-available wastes and residues for ethanol production. For an example, read this article on food waste. Please contact Epiphergy to discuss your particular feedstock opportunity.

Ethanol Biocatalysts:

Epiphergy supplies a variety of yeasts and enzymes to help customers produce ethanol from many different feedstocks.

Yeasts: Epiphergy supplies EFuel100-EM, a proprietary mixture of high-yield, fast-acting yeast and nutrients to aid fermentation.

Enzymes: are used when working with anything other than sugar feedstock; for example, starchy materials such as corn, potatoes, grains, food waste. Different enzymes and special processes are used to convert cellulosic materials such as grasses and waste paper into ethanol. Please contact Epiphergy to discuss the best enzymes for your particular raw material.

Bacteria: are another option for cellulosic ethanol production. The idea is that certain types of bacteria actually eat plant material and produce ethanol in a single step. Epiphergy plans to demonstrate a bacteria-based cellulosic ethanol process using the MicroFueler by the end of 2009.
